Slimdor Ranch Rodeo Kicks Off the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Weekend
The Slimdor Ranch Rodeo once again kicked off the Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo Weekend with an unforgettable evening of western tradition, friendly competition, and community spirit.
Held on Friday, August 30th at the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Grounds, the event gave spectators a front-row seat to the roots of modern rodeo. Thanks to Slimdor Contracting’s sponsorship, admission was completely free, inviting families, locals, and visitors alike to enjoy a true ranch experience.
Participants showcased their skills in authentic ranch-style competitions, including cattle wrestling, sorting, and penning — events inspired by the real-life work that ranchers still perform today to manage livestock and homesteads.
